Megan Nielsen Patterns – Matilda Dress Review

Well! This is quite an exciting day!

I have just launched my brand new website!! As I prepare to open my online shop selling hand dyed yarn, knitting patterns, art prints, and eventually sewing patterns, I wanted to up the ante and design a website that would be able to grow and expand as necessary and really reflect my long term goals. Thank you so much to all of you for inspiring me and encouraging me to keep at it. None of this would have happened without your support. And now, before I get too cheesy, I want to tell you about a very special first post.

I finally get to tell you all about the Matilda dress.

Ivory Rose Colette Pastille Dres

My June Minerva Crafts blogger network post is up! I used some gorgeous fabric from the Minerva Crafts website and paired it with the Colette Pastille dress pattern. I cannot explain how much I love this dress. It turned out exactly like I imagined it. You can see a bunch more pictures and read… Continue reading Ivory Rose Colette Pastille Dres

Leggings, Leggings, and MORE Leggings!

I recently started going to the gym with my husband. Now, I don't know about you, but I feel extremely awkward exercising. There is something about making my body do all sorts of weird contortions that stresses me out. Stretches? I could do those all day. But cardio or faster paced exercises? No way! When you add other people, and old, ill-fitting workout clothes into the mix makes it even worse. The first couple of times we went I felt so embarrassed and painfully self-conscious. I know that exercising is good for my health and overall well-being, but I felt as if I was standing out like a sore thumb. (To be honest, nobody probably gave me a second look. It just feels like they do!) Normally, I'm not the type of person who wants anything to do with form-fitting workout clothes, but after the second trip to the gym, I knew something had to change. Enter these three pairs of lovely leggings!

Knitting W. I. P.

I have been taking a wee break from my sewing and focusing quite a bit on my knitting. I did tape together a PDF pattern that I am testing this morning, but I haven't decided what fabric I shall be using for it yet. I also purchased some gorgeous fabric over the weekend which is going to be turned into some fun little projects very soon. But for now, I'm going to talk a bit about my current knitting project! I have been knitting away on a lovely cardigan pattern by Alexa and Emily of Tin Can Knits. It is a free pattern on Ravelry called "The Harvest Cardigan."

Thoughts at the End of Me-Made-May 2017

And May has come to an end. Did you participate in Me Made May this year? I did, and it was a little tougher than normal. I got sick, and work was crazy stressful which zapped much of my creative energy reserves. (Enough so that I am looking at getting another job very soon, but I will give a better update on that later.) It was a frustrating and amazing month all at the same time!
